Evaluation of Segmentation Tools Applied to Epilepsy
摘要
This research work is framed within the field of digital image processing applied to neuroimaging, taking into account the grounds it has in the diagnosis of complex neurological pathologies. There are several segmentation tools or software programs that allow processing information derived from Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or other techniques; a consequence that comes from the need to incorporate post-processing of MRIs into the protocol of epilepsy surgery. This and other tools allow enhancing the quality of the information analyzed in seminars within the regional program of epilepsy surgery. This study was conducted at three levels: general, specific and clinical analysis. Eighteen software programs were analyzed at the first level, leaving only six tools to be evaluated on their installation and performance. Finally, two applications were selected, which managed to pass the different stages of analysis and accomplish the minimum requirements established.
