Post-processing of Medical Image for Neurosurgical Planning with Academic Purposes
摘要
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computerized tomography (CT) scans are routinely performed in patients who must undergo neurosurgery. Due to the complexity and particularity of each patient’s case, the success of the surgery largely depends on prior planning. Through post-processing methods of medical images, it is possible to obtain relevant information that provides support to the medical team to do the procedure accurately. In this research work, we show the development and implementation of image processing methods in the neurosurgery department of ‘Hospital descentralizado Dr. Guillermo Rawson’. We aim to improve the quantity and quality of information for patient evaluation in medical residences. The integration of image post-processing allows to expand the tools used, to define the treatment and to improve the planning of neurosurgeries. In addition, implementing this type of technology allows specialists and residents to learn about new strategies that have an impact on constant academic training.
