Assessment of Flowmeters’ Operation Used for Oxygen Therapy in Health Institutions
摘要
With the purpose of analyzing possible losses in flowmeters used for oxygen therapy, a field investigation was carried out analyzing different commercial brands of these devices in two health institutions. Seven points of interest were chosen within the scale of analyzed flowmeters, between 5 and 15 l/min, also measuring the flow rate supplied when this device is fully open. A statistical analysis of taken measurements was carried out, finding value differences when working at different pressures. Finally, the results of flowmeter measurements used out of scale yielded very interesting data that suggest future research associating the precision and use of flowmeters with their effects on the patients, especially after the intensive use of oxygen therapy during the global pandemic by Cov-19.
