摘要

Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) is a nuclear magnetic resonance technique that allows quantifying the movement of water molecules in tissues. Within the standard multiparametric prostate protocol, obtained images can provide a biological indicator for the diagnosis of prostate lesions. Another standard MR sequence that can complement this diagnostic protocol is known as Perfusion Weighted Imaging (PWI). The aim of this paper is to compare the indicators as those obtained from DWI against the classical PWI model for tumor detection. After image acquisition and processing, Pearson correlation between both models was found to be significant, thereby allowing the lesion characterization by means of qualitative MRI techniques.
