Arising from a disruption of regular biological circuits and control mechanisms, cancer exhibits a remarkable inter- and intra-type heterogeneity, an intricate mutational signature, and a multifaceted array of alterations in both genetic and phenotypic domains. The sustainability of malignancy is reliant upon the availability of sufficient resources, microenvironmental adaptations, and metabolic rewiring. The extraordinary metabolic load imposed by uncontrolled proliferation foists stringent challenges on cellular biochemistry. In response, cancer cells engage in substantial restructuring of signal transduction cascades and the reconfiguration of transcriptional networks, thus establishing a platform that caters to the unique energy demands of neoplasia. Contemporary urologic oncology is witnessing a surge in research interest aimed at comprehensively deciphering the metabolic reprogramming occurring in prostate cancer. These investigations delve deep into the nuanced regulatory mechanisms governing cancer-related alterations and their profound implications in both the initiation and the advancement of the disease.
