On Markoff Type Surfaces over Number Fields and the Arithmetic of Markoff Numbers

In this note, we study arithmetic properties of solutions to inhomogeneous Markoff–Hurwitz equations; in particular, we study counterexamples to the Hasse principle as well as the question of finite generation of the solution set under Vieta involutions, sign changes, and permutations of coordinates.
