Hybrid Imaging in Nuclear Cardiology

  • Sanjay Divakaran

摘要

Attenuation correction (AC with computed tomography (CT) provide images that are virtually free of attenuation artifact such as soft tissue, gut, and liver activity. AC can be applied to both single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET) technology and is considered hybrid imaging. Hybrid imaging improves specificity for both SPECT and PET and provides an opportunity to evaluate the presence of coronary artery calcium. It can also be applied to both amyloid and metabolic imaging.
