摘要

Myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) continues to prove its utility in the continued evaluation of ischemic heart disease. In patients with new or worsening symptoms indicative of disease progression or complications, MPI is often critical in determining further course of action. However, given that there are still over 126 million people living with cardiovascular disease many of whom many have underwent prior intervention; determining those who require further evaluation despite being asymptomatic is a challenging task. To ensure appropriate evaluation, the American College of Cardiology (ACC) along with other groups have published several guidance documents and appropriate use criteria. This chapter will elucidate the role of stress MPI in evaluation of known CAD (coronary artery disease) at different stages of treatment, including post MI, post revascularization and medical therapy.
