Graphic Expression for 3D modelling: Virtual Reality and Creation
摘要
Nowadays, the ability of creating a digital environment with a 360 camera and using it for virtual reality is quite accessible and of widespread use. This article is intended to improve new tendencies, in this case we teach in a virtual scenary instead a fisical one, in which the student experiences and gets a better grasp of the knowledge along with a practical understanding. The entirety of this simulation has been developed in such a way that it can be extrapolated to other fields. The study or assembly of a machine can be complex when it comes to explaining, as well as when disassembling each part no more than 20 students observing simultaneously. For this reason, a simulation has been developed, consisting of: Generating the digital environment with a 360 Video camera. Adapting and enhancing the video by introducing explanatory elements of the machines or elements. Simulating in 3D under VR (Virtual Reality). Making the students interact and see the elements of the different machines realistically, while helping them with the blueprints of the machines provided. In the final phase, in order to assess the learning acquired, a survey was conducted to verify the improvement in knowledge acquisition and comprehension of the graphic representation in different manners (visualization, concentration, ability, knowledge acquisition in graphic interpretation, tolerances, finishings, adjustments, etc.). This survey provided information on failures and improvements, as well guidelines for the evolution of these tools. The savings in time and costs using this technology will allow achieving objectives more quickly and reliably. Similar studies have been made without the assessment of the final results in non-industrial environments, which are no longer recent, as technology advances with gigantic steps in this particular subject.
