Development of an Augmented Reality Application to Improve Understanding of the Graphic Engineering Fundamentals
摘要
In this work, an application with Augmented Reality (AR) was developed with the intention of accompanying the students of Graphic Engineering courses in the 3D visualization of exercises and the resolution of them. AR provides 3D information of objects and facilitates the interpretation of auxiliary views or plane changes that are necessary to solve the exercises. It also provides the possibility to interact with some user-controlled operations, such as rotation and zoom. The developed application allows choosing the point of view while the reference planes move perpendicularly to the direction of view, making easier to understand and visualize in 3D the steps to be performed in 2D in direct dihedral system. The application resolves whether the selected auxiliary view or plane change is correct or not, enabling an autonomous learning process. Therefore, this application brings fixed knowledge and provides greater ease of understanding. Thus, with the help of this technology, students actively participate in the learning/teaching process, carrying out a personal learning itinerary. In addition, the developed application can increase the motivation of students with respect to the course and prevent them from lagging behind due to poor ability to visualize auxiliary views or plane changes in 3D.
