Artificial Intelligence in the Design Workflow. Review of Tools with Special Focus on Additive Manufacturing

In this communication, the main artificial intelligence tools available within the field of graphic engineering will be presented, as well as the potential use of these tools in the creation of new products to be manufactured by additive manufacturing. In addition, a critical analysis will be made of the advantages that these new technologies provide in the industrial design sector and the generation of new products. However, the irruption of this type of resources is fueling certain fears and suspicions, especially related to the connotation of the loss of jobs for designers and creatives, which will also be analyzed. Finally, in this communication a new workflow will be exposed to be able to unify these two technologies with the aim of creating pieces of new concepts oriented to be manufactured by 3D printing.
