Editors’ Conclusion

  • Alexander Hensby,
  • Barbara Adewumi

摘要

This concluding chapter summarises the book’s contribution to research and practice relating to the white-BAME awarding gap. The editors provide a critical evaluation of its overarching research design and theoretical framework which combines Bourdieu’s theory of capitals, critical race theory, and self-determination theory. Attention is also paid to EDI and race equality policy and practice, including recommendations for how institutions should conduct this work in the future. Finally, the editors offer reflections on why this work matters, including reasons for retaining optimism amid the many constraints this work faces across the HE sector.
