99 Shades of Gray: A Newish Look at Light, Dark, and Other Value Judgments of Creativity

Students of creativity have become accustomed to dividing into creativity different kinds, based on judgments of intent and moral consequences. Examples are light and dark creativity, and positive and negative creativity. But these judgments are fraught because they depend not only on the creative acts, but also on who is doing the judging, what they are judging, where they are judging it, when they are judging it, and how they are making the judgment. It is argued that although most judgments are socioculturally relative, some judgments transcend sociocultural limitations.
