AI Tools for Education: The Development of a Free Asynchronous Course

This chapter outlines the development and content of an impactful course, “AI Tools for Education,” designed to introduce educators to a diverse array of AI tools and resources. The course empowers educators to seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence into teaching, learning, and administrative tasks. Participants gain the skills to work more efficiently, reducing administrative workload while personalizing learning experiences and refining instructional design. Central to the course is the belief that AI offers solutions for every educational task, enabling educators to optimize their teaching methods and amplify their classroom impact through intelligent technology applications. In the 2 months since its inception, the course has attracted 807 participants and 101 evaluations. Participants praised its well-structured, user-friendly, and informative nature. The next step involves assessing the course’s effectiveness in enhancing participant-learning outcomes. Subsequently, we plan to extend its reach to a wider audience of educational professionals, offering them a pathway to embrace AI tools and conquer any apprehensions. The course will remain dynamic and continually updated with the latest AI tools and resources, ensuring that participants always have access to cutting-edge educational technologies. In summary, the “AI Tools for Education” course serves as a resource for educators looking to upgrade their skills and stay up to date with the latest trends in education technology.
