Toward Peace and Security of Somalia and the Horn of Africa
摘要
This concluding chapter notes the lack of comprehensive studies on the role of IGAD in the security and economic regional integration process of the Horn of Africa. While existing literature is descriptive and analytical, focusing on IGAD's history from a global perspective, this research emphasizes IGAD's role in facilitating stability in Somalia and the region amid various actors and interests. It highlights the development-security nexus and provides effective analytical and policy frameworks for closer integration in a region marked by decades of conflicts. The complex historical evolution of IGAD since its revitalization in 1996 has also shaped its capacity and relevance in promoting regional integration.
