Intuitionistic Fuzzy Evaluation of Basic Human Needs

In this paper, an intuitionistic fuzzy technique is proposed to evaluate Basic Human Needs Index (BHNI) that is one of main factors constituting Social Progress İndex. İntuitionistic fuzzy sets and logic are suitable in this regard to solve Weighted Linear Combination (WLC) problems. The core intention of study is to combine weighted indicators that frame BHNI. Assessment of global indices are mainly based on crisp WLC methods. There does not exist a generalized way, so overcoming these kinds of issues requires different approaches, including fuzzy methods. The current paper is distinguished from previous ones on the same methods, with fuzzification tools of crisp data and intuitionistic fuzzy methodology. The put forward methodology in this work can be a piece of help in the generalization of the assesment of BHNI. The computation of BHNI of the country is carried out based on statistical data of Social Progress Imperative.
