This chapter overviews the existing scholarship regarding computer-assisted grammar instruction for second-language learners. Beginning with a review of some of the prominent pedagogies guiding grammar instruction, the chapter then briefly outlines the development and use of computer-assisted language learning in grammar instruction, detailing several popular contemporary applications including corpus-based language tools, gamified grammar instruction and mobile apps designed to facilitate language learning, and automated writing evaluation and corrective feedback systems. This chapter concludes by outlining several future directions for CALL applications in grammar instruction, specifically, the potential for generative AI to create bespoke curricula to meet students’ individual needs.
