In the evolving field of second/foreign language acquisition (SLA), individual differences (IDs) significantly shape learner experiences, behaviours and outcomes. Whilst considerable progress has been made in understanding how IDs influence SLA and computer-assisted language learning (CALL), there remains a gap in systematic reviews focusing on their intersection with intelligent computer-assisted language learning (ICALL). Exploring these differences within the realm of ICALL is an emerging area of study that requires thorough examination. This chapter aims to address this gap by providing an overview of how various IDs impact ICALL. It delves into the importance and extent of these differences in ICALL, reviews existing research on their significance and explores methods for evaluating differences within this context. By exploring these aspects, this chapter aims to improve our understanding of how ID factors can be incorporated into ICALL practices to enhance language learning outcomes.
