Online learning-teaching procedures have gained momentum in the past few decades in line with technological changes. Apart from these changes, the Covid-19 pandemic has added another dimension to the understanding of online learning tools as the world witnessed drastic changes in the delivery of distance education, which has paved the way for more opportunities and continuous usage regarding the employment of these tools. Naturally, testing and assessment procedures have been deeply affected by the increasing employment of online learning-teaching tools. Therefore, it has become a must to revise testing and assessment tools for different language skills and areas. In this vein, online grammar assessment, explored via different applications in different educational settings, has gained ground in the relevant literature. Although online tools offer various benefits for foreign language learners, there are still some challenges and issues that should be considered for a more effective implementation of online grammar assessment in foreign language education.
