Thus, while it may have certain drawbacks, automatic scoring in CALL is inevitably attractive at schools, universities, and testing institutions. This entry aims to provide an overview of automated scoring in CALL. For this purpose, automated scoring in CALL as a term is defined before providing information about its components. Then, the entry involves a discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of the use of automated scoring in CALL. Next, how automated scoring in CALL is implemented is clarified. To do this, the components are listed and described in the following order: natural language processing, speech recognition, feedback, and scoring process.
