Evolution of the SKA Science Case
摘要
This chapter describes the evolving science case and how it informed the instrumental developments needed to build the SKA. It starts with an outline of the scientific context in 1990, and the tenth anniversary meeting for the Very Large Array in the USA (VLA). In the early 1990s a formal international working group was established through the International Union of Radio Science (URSI) to develop the science case for an SKA.
