We conclude this account of the history of the SKA in its formative years with a brief analysis of the major issues and challenges faced by the project against a background of megaprojects in general and science megaprojects in particular. Other projects and mega-project scholars may benefit from seeing how this particular endeavour navigated its way towards becoming a reality.
