Sustainable Fashion Manufacturing System in the Korean Fashion Industry
摘要
Koreans are becoming increasingly aware of the negative effects of mindless consumption, which has become pervasive in modern society and contributes to a feeling of emptiness. Consequently, they are turning toward practical and socially responsible solutions, such as Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG), ethical consumption, and sustainable resource procurement. Across countries, various approaches have been adopted to promote sustainability in the fashion industry, such as reducing material waste, increasing efficiency, promoting reuse, and extending product lifespan through repair and versatility. This chapter focuses on Korean sustainable upcycling fashion brands that are gaining popularity in the domestic market and explores how they are introducing sustainable fashion to consumers who are not accustomed to recycled clothing.
