If doctors are to work with health care professionals like nursesNurse, pharmacists, physiotherapists, techniciansTechnicians, etc., they must have the requisite teamwork skills and understanding of varied tasks. ClinicalClinician education has always been acquired in an isolated scenario, with little concern for other professions and little collaborationCollaboration in terms of combined educationalEducational programs. Interprofessional educationInterprofessional Education (IPE) focuses on providing the knowledge and skill sets required for collaborativeCollaborative working, which can lead to improvements in healthcareHealthcare delivery. There has been a rise in the quality of health care delivery, following appropriate clinicalClinical guidelinesGuidelines, patient satisfactionSatisfaction, and a decrease in medical errors after the institutionInstitution of interprofessional education. Thus, it is necessary to implement such interdisciplinary coaching for the medical student and incorporate the same into their curriculumCurriculum. A major impediment to interprofessional practice is the lack of understanding and ignorance of job-specific skills. To implement such training, one has to be first aware of the intricate problems that may arise in a team-based working environment. Therefore, when designing the curriculum for medical students, it is necessary to incorporate interdisciplinary education to provide collaborative skills.
