Teaching Medical Ethics
摘要
Education must be ethical. But what is an ethical education, and what are the ethical standards? The simple answer could be the biblicalBiblical teaching that “thou shall not do to others what thou shall not want others to do untoUnto thou”. (New Testament,12:7.) However, it may not be that simple. Care, compassion, integrity, trust, acceptanceAcceptance, and a desire to learn for the rest of one’s life are central to the established codes of ethicsEthics. From an early age, etiquette and good manners are instilled in children through interactions with their parents, siblings, extended family, and friends. According to psychologistsPsychologist, a person’s character is formed during their early years. The events that follow only establish a person’s character. In this chapterChapter, we will look at the normative principles of medical ethics and how they should be taught to the medical students.
