摘要

Medical education has progressively gained greater importance in health care. It is a dynamic field where an individual has to play multiple roles to promote a productive learning environment. This chapter investigates the roles of an educator as a teacher, leader, mentor, and scholar. A teacher holds the responsibility to foster lifetime learning, critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and application of knowledge with matching skills in professional life in his pupils. As a leader, one must possess administrative capabilities, teamwork, a motivational role and a perpetual desire to excel. As a manager, one has to learn financial management and the ethical distribution of available resources and organise educational and training programmes for juniors and colleagues. Mentoring is an ageless tradition providing guidance, training, and cultivation of personal talents and the development of resilience to face challenges. Finally, scholarship is the cornerstone of an educational process, engaging the established practices of pedagogy, and harnessing digital technology and AI to produce the finest health professionals.
