Wealth Creation in the Third Generation of Medical Universities

Given that in different universities, the functioning of academic units/areas is affected by various factors, such as the geographical location of a university or a region, existing opportunities and threats, strategies, and measures related to the wealth creationCreation may also be affected by these factors. Nevertheless, when we talk about the wealth creationCreation of a university of medical sciencesScience, it needs the experiences of clinicalClinical and basic sciencesScience professors, and their interdisciplinary collaborationsCollaboration in various fields. In addition, the cooperationCooperation of industry experts, non-academic specialists, and students will facilitate the achievementAchievements of this goal. The authors recommend that at first, the three prerequisites of a wealth-creating university (i.e., educationalEducational wealth creationCreation, the organizational cultureCultures of wealth creationCreation, and leadership and management of wealth creationCreation) be considered, especially for start-up universities. To guide universities in this direction, especially for developing and underdeveloped countries, we need a frameworkFramework that not only assists university leaders and administrators to determine the prerequisites (inputs) and the process of wealth creationCreation but also considers its output to help them assess the current status and identify their strengths and weaknesses.
