Discrete Event Simulation of Manufacturing Processes and Inventory Control

This chapter is devoted to the development of simulation models for manufacturing process and inventory control. First, we learn principles of queuing theory to understand the methodology of building discrete event-based process simulation models. Subsequently, AnyLogic software is introduced. We explain through illustrative case studies how to build simulation models and provide instructions for the development of process and inventory control policies using AnyLogic software.
