Follow-Up Study and Its Reasons: Shifting the Focus More to the Ecological Assessment of the Conservative Phenomenon

  • Enno Freiherr von Fircks

摘要

The second part of the study starts with the theoretical and methodological implications of studying the conservative phenomenon from an ecological perspective. Here, problems of the first part of the book are discussed such as the over-focus on verbal data rather than the person<>environment interaction that is central when studying a political culture from a personological viewpoint. Here, we enlarge E.E. Boesch’s Symbolic Action Theory and integrate his findings into a general introspective<>extrospective framework through which conservative actions can be analyzed wholistically. For that purpose, we rely on concrete actions that change the environment in peculiar ways while those actions are regulated by fantasms and myths (private and collective needs).
