Precision farming, often known as smart agriculture, is a new paradigm that automates and optimizes processes through the use of cloud computing, machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Amazing gains in output, efficiency, and quality are now possible in agriculture thanks to cloud computing. This abstract provides a thorough examination of the benefits, uses, and difficulties of implementing cloud computing in smart farming. In this chapter’s first section, we take a look at the basics of conventional farming, including its definition, characteristics, and outcomes. Traditional farming, in contrast to modern industrial agriculture, makes use of tried-and-true techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation. Instead of relying heavily on mechanical technology and synthetic chemicals, natural processes, local knowledge, and physical labor are utilized. Local communities, cultures, and ecosystems all play a significant role in traditional farming. Typical features include the use of natural manures, crop rotation, and polycultures. Despite criticism that it is less effective than modern techniques, the sustainable and holistic approach it takes is based on thousands of years of wisdom.
