The openness, security, and decentralized data management capabilities of blockchain technology are being leveraged by smart farming to bring about a paradigm shift in agriculture. Traceability, data interchange, and confidence in agricultural supply chains are all improved by real-world implementations of blockchain technology. The proposed chapter for the book looks into a number of important facets, the first of which is an investigation into the ways in which blockchain technology can be utilized in the context of smart farming. Blockchain technology is an essential force behind innovation, the creation of collaborative ecosystems, and the improvement of industrial efficiency and resiliency. It can do everything from inspiring farmers to adopt environmentally friendly practices to providing customers with accurate product information. We also looked into the benefits and drawbacks of using blockchain technology in agricultural applications.
