Integrating IoT in Educational Engineering Application Development - an Emerging Paradigm

In recent years, due to the pandemic conditions caused by COVID, digitalization has become mandatory for the development of teaching activities in optimal conditions. A new paradigm for smart education has appeared not only in the engineering field but also in other educational fields: the obligation to interconnect innovative IoT solutions (sensors, open-source electronic devices such as Arduino or Raspberry pi) with classic engineering solutions to develop smart projects. In the digital university, access to technology reduces costs and risks, improves working methods, increases the visibility and skills acquired by future graduates who will enter the labour market. Through a practical and methodological approach, we will analyse the advantages and disadvantages of using IoT in the educational process for the development of engineering skills.
