摘要

Government, industry, traffic, media, farming community and risk management departments need a reliable high-resolution weather forecast (Majewski, D. (1997). Operational regional prediction. Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics, 63: 89–104. Dynamical downscaling: Assessment of value retained and added using the Regional Atmospheric Modelling System (RAMS) Eds., Cambridge University Press.). The forecast of Indian Summer Monsoon Rainfall (ISMR) (which contributes 80% of the annual rainfall over India) for an extended range (2 weeks to a month) in advance is one of the most challenging issues, particularly over tropics to the metrological scientific community due to small-scale convective activities and complex interaction between land–air–sea with large-scale flow.
