Spectrophotometer for Field Studies

A spectrophotometer for monitoring the condition of plants and vegetation covers has been developed. The device allows to determine the spectral composition of incident and reflected radiation and fluorescence spectra of plants, to calculate vegetation indices for numerical estimation of surface character or leaf condition. The spectrophotometer is realized as a BLE peripheral device. The structural diagram and description of individual components of the device are presented. Block diagrams of programs for working with sensors and interaction with the user are given. The instrument is designed as a compact portable device intended for operation in field conditions, has low power consumption and ergonomic interface. The spectrophotometer will find practical application in conducting research in the field of photosynthesis and plant biology, implementation of environmental monitoring activities, as well as in various branches of agriculture.
