Cities are living, complex organisms that change and at the same time project history and culture as a constitutive element of their identity. Each city’s unique spatial, social, and cultural identity is inextricably linked to the artistic expressions, customs, history, and every spatial activity that is part of the urban space that functions as an active, experiential place. This paper explores the convergence of applied and visual arts as an educational tool to unlock the potential of abandoned sites in the urban fabric and promote a deeper connection between tourism and cultural heritage.
