Balkan Style Digital Diplomacy

The Balkan countries differ in their population size, degree of economic development, state capacity, EU membership, or the stages in the process of European integration they are in. These factors determine their diplomatic activity, in general, and their digital diplomacy performance, in particular. In terms of the extent to which digital diplomacy is developed, the countries in the region vary significantly, with some countries having their digital diplomacy at an embryonic stage while others are applying this tool much more actively. This chapter sets out to explore some hypotheses related to the digital diplomacy of the Balkan states.
