Novel Bat Algorithm with Cubic Cost Function for Thermal Economic Dispatch Problem Solving
摘要
The ultimate purpose of economic dispatch is to optimize the operational efficiency of a power system generating network. The primary aim of conducting economic dispatch is to reduce the cost of fuel used by the generator operation. The investigation of the least cost function via the use of optimization methods is a subject that has garnered significant scholarly attention. The actual economic dispatch issues exhibit cost functions that are non-smooth and are subject to both equality and inequality restrictions. These characteristics pose challenges in determining the global optimum using various mathematical methods. This study introduces a proficient and dependable Novel Bat Algorithm (NBA) for addressing economic dispatch issues including both smooth cost functions and cubic fuel cost functions. The Novel Bat Algorithm proposes the concept of incorporating the Doppler Effect and the migratory behavior of bats across various environments. The efficacy of the suggested approach is shown by its application to systems with three and five units for testing purposes.
