The COVID-19 epidemic has caused a significant and profound change in the worldwide tourism sector, leading to a transition from excessive tourism to a state of non-tourism. Consequently, previously bustling tourist locations have exhibited for years a haunting emptiness. Given the aforementioned circumstances, the present chapter explores the deep and persistent ramifications of the pandemic on the tourism sector. It examines the significant shifts in traveller behaviour and decision-making that have been influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, this chapter highlights the pivotal role that technology plays in the recovery and reinvention of the tourism sector as it endeavours to navigate the challenges and seize the opportunities presented in the post-COVID-19 world.
