Conclusions

Smart tourism has become a buzzword, but because the sector is so vast, everyone interprets it differently and has different understandings. There is a lack of an official and comprehensive conceptualization of the field, its concepts, and methodologies, and everyone has established their own definition and understanding of it. Consequently, there is a pressing need to design a universal understanding of the aforementioned subject that could facilitate its growth. This is one of the most significant contributions of the book. After years of extensive research, we have developed a solid understanding of the so-called smart tourism sector. We have endeavoured to provide a comprehensive and formal conceptualization of it, which could pave the way for its evolution and finally the growth of a Smart Tourism Culture.
