Spiritual Care for People Living with Dementia
摘要
A diagnosis of dementia (in its different forms) represents the identification of a disease which (if no other illness or event supersedes it) will eventually result in death. Altered behaviour and capabilities vary considerably among people living with the illness. This chapter identifies and explores approaches to spiritual care which have the greatest constructive impact on people living with dementia, their carers, families, and friends. Drawing on the personal experience of the author, along with a range of relevant literature, it sets out ways in which the agency and engagement of people can be enabled and enhanced by skilfully delivered spiritual support.
