摘要

A smart city is a technologically advanced urban that employs various electronic methods to develop, deploy, and promote sustainable development. This has substantial direct or indirect ties to hardware and software technologies. As measured by the components of urban space, modern technology, such as GIS, has enormous potential for fostering sustainable development in major cities. The ability of GIS to detect space utilisation using the spatial analysis tool allows for the prediction of societal behaviour in urban space. Improving accessibility, utilisation, or design of such spaces can also contribute to a better understanding of city dwellers' behaviour, especially in large cities where enhanced urban mobility systems, a sense of community, and safety, demonstrate the application of new technologies. In crime prevention, data will play an increasingly important role in anticipating crime by tapping into routine information to ensure the safety and security of smart cities. This chapter explores how GIS can improve urban spaces and how smart urban spaces can enhance the lives of city dwellers. Finally, it concludes by using urban space and how it can improve accessibility and safety and predict behaviour through street morphology for smart city implementation.
