Design and Simulation of PID-Based Control System for UAV Quadcopters

In order to analyze the dynamic characteristics of the Quadcopter and the operation of the PID controller for the Quadcopter, the first paper describes the architecture. It analyzes the kinetic model of the Quadcopter. Then, based on the control structure of the classical PID controller, we design a controller to control the posture (position and orientation) of the Quadcopter, which has six DOF (Degrees of freedom). Next, the dynamic model of the Quadcopter is simulated by software. The parameters P, I, and D are selected and calculated to find the control laws according to the state variables of the control object. Finally, a Quadcopter with a PID controller is designed and built. Simulation results show that the PID controller robustly stabilizes for the Quadcopter.
