Nonlinear Schwarz Preconditioning for Quasi-Newton Methods

In this work, we consider a nonlinear preconditioning strategy for Quasi-Newton (QN) methods. QN methods are a class of root-finding methods, where the full Jacobian is replaced with an approximation. In the context of this work, we consider secant methods, which take into account a variable number of secant equations at each nonlinear iteration.
