Associated Technologies

This chapter discusses the relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and associated technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Cloud Computing, Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), and Crowd Sourcing. RPA is software that replicates human tasks, while Cloud Computing is a key enabler of AI, providing data storage, management, and processing capabilities. Physical robots use AI for tasks like autonomous driving, manufacturing, and care services. IoT devices, which generate and consume large amounts of data, have a symbiotic relationship with AI, which helps make sense of the data. Crowd Sourcing is used when AI cannot complete a task, with humans stepping in to help or to train the AI system. The chapter emphasises that while AI can do many things, it often relies on or complements other technologies for optimal performance.
