Case Example: Application of ACT-I in a Group Intervention
摘要
The aim of this chapter is to present a description of ACT-I in a group of five adults with insomnia complaints. The intervention comprised six group sessions and consisted of the following therapeutic elements: psychoeducation about sleep, sleep hygiene, and processes of psychological flexibility (acceptance, cognitive defusion, contact with the present moment, self as context, values, and committed actions). The therapeutic elements were addressed based on metaphors, mindfulness practices, identification of values, and action plans. This chapter demonstrates how group ACT-I provides learning conditions based on both the individual’s active participation in the proposed intervention and observation of the behavior of the other group members in response to therapy.
