From the Lab Bench to the Capital: My Career Evolution from Biologist to Government Relations Professional
摘要
In this chapter, I describe my career trajectory from evolutionary biology graduate student to government relations professional. I offer insights into the day-to-day work of my profession and my perspective on the numerous transferrable skills that one acquires during graduate school. I conclude with advice for scientists seeking to embark on policy or government relations careers, including the importance of identifying career mentors and networking, and the paths provided by science policy fellowships.
