My Career Path to Teaching High School Biology

I hold a Ph.D. in Biology and have been a high school teacher and administrator for the past 20 years. I found my passion for teaching while I was in graduate school, obtained my first teaching job immediately after receiving my doctorate, and have been at the same school ever since. Teaching at the high school level is incredibly rewarding, and I never wavered from my decision to embark on this path. This chapter presents my professional journey as well as advice for graduate students looking to explore their options.
