Dismantling Pipelines to Prisons

This chapter delves into the role of schools, educational policies, and child welfare policies in perpetuating the pipeline to prisons. It critically examines the school-to-prison pipeline and the foster care-to-prison pipeline, analyzing their effects on youth. Furthermore, successful models and programs that have effectively disrupted these pipelines will be presented, with a focus on intervention and prevention strategies.
