An Overview of Intraocular Lens Power Calculation Methods

All methods and formulas developed to calculate the intraocular lens (IOL) power are described: historical methods, regression methods, theoretical formulas, thin and thick-lens formulas, ray-tracing, artificial intelligence methods and intraoperative aberrometry. The main characteristics of each approach are provided and a final classification of formulas and method is given.
