Fertility Prediction in Patients with Endometriosis (Endometriosis Fertility Index)

Endometriosis Fertility Index (EFI) is the first externally validated scoring system for fertility prediction; it has been demonstrated to be the most effective tool for fertility management in women with surgically documented endometriosis by over 24 studies. This scoring system combined with historical factors and surgical factors (including least function evaluation of ovary, tube, and fimbria) and results can be reproduced reliably by different raters. EFI should be used in routine practice to counsel/manage postoperative fertility in women with endometriosis. The World Endometriosis Society Consensus advised that the medical/surgical records should have a completed and documented EFI score.
